Growing up on the Tweed – GC Bulletin

From Rick Shores to Rockpool, meet the team behind a new drive-and-dine destination

The sunflowers that sent an Instagram stampede to the Tweed may have met their match.

Just wait until you try the wood-smoked lamb shoulder at Farm & Co.

In the northern NSW hamlet of Cudgen, the farm is an easy escape for Gold Coasters ready to get some red dirt on their boots – just a 25-minute drive from my base at Burleigh, or five from an array of accommodation at Salt Village if you’re making a weekend of it.

While a stand of sunflowers were still drawing the social spotlight when we visited on Sunday, they aren’t the only thing that’s been growing at the popular pit-stop.

Mark Wilson, owner of the PLB Group and architect of many favourite eateries – from the pioneering Taverna to Osteria, Ancora and Lolita’s – has taken the reins at the restaurant.

“We serve rustic, wholesome, good-quality food made with ingredients harvested daily from the farm as well as local organic produce,” Amy says.

“The opportunity to bounce ideas around with David means we are digging deeper to bring out the very best of the incredible bounty on our doorstep and continually push boundaries at Farm & Co.”

Farm & Co acknowledge and pay respect to the Bundjalung people, the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work.
